Interactions and accessibility
Cross-filtering, drilldown, tooltips, the context menu, keyboard use, and high contrast support.
Report interactions
| Behaviour | How it works |
|---|---|
| Cross-filtering | Selecting cells filters the rest of the report page, and the visual respects the report author's Edit interactions setting rather than overriding it. |
| Multi-visual selection | Selections combine with other visuals in the way Power BI expects. |
| Drilldown | Standard Power BI drilldown behaviour on the row and column hierarchies. |
| Tooltips | Measures placed in the Tooltips well appear on hover without occupying a column. |
| Context menu | Right-click opens the Power BI context menu, including on empty space. Header right-click also exposes sign inversion when that setting is enabled. |
Accessibility
- Keyboard focus moves through the matrix and its toolbar controls.
- High contrast mode is supported and follows the Windows setting.
- The visual reports Power BI rendering events, so screen readers and export processes know when it has finished drawing.
- The interface is localised.
- Pattern, position, and text remain available alongside colour, so conditional formatting is not the only channel carrying meaning.
