No — the text is fixed in the specification rather than read from the model. That is deliberate: this is a banner, and a banner that changes with a slicer is not one. Type the wording you want, and come back to this page to change it. If you need a number that moves with the report, a card or a measure-driven visual is the right tool.

They go inside the specification, and they are never uploaded to us. Your browser reads the file, resizes it and encodes it, and writes it straight into the specification when you copy — the request that builds the specification carries only your text and settings. A Microsoft-certified visual cannot fetch anything at render time, which is why the picture has to travel inside the specification rather than as a link.

Sixteen items. Logos are limited by size rather than count: each one is encoded into the specification, so the page shows you roughly how large the specification has grown and warns you before it becomes awkward to paste. Half a dozen logos at a sensible height is comfortable.

Slower than feels right when you are watching it on your own. Sixty pixels a second is a readable walking pace and is where it opens. The page shows how long a full pass of your items takes; if that is much more than about thirty seconds, a reader arriving halfway through will never see the end of the list, so shorten the items rather than speeding it up.

So it can be read. That is a setting, on by default, and it resumes from where it stopped rather than jumping. Turn it off under Motion if the strip is going on a screen nobody interacts with.

Wide and short — a band across the top or bottom of a page. Set the width and height on the Canvas tab to the shape of the space it will sit in, and the strip lays itself out to match. The specification is built for that shape, so it is worth setting before you copy.

No. The preview runs entirely in your browser, on the text and pictures you put into it. The pictures never leave your machine, and the visual reads nothing from your data model at all.

Yes. Once purchased, you can use the visual in any report for personal or commercial use. You may not resell or redistribute the raw JSON specification itself.
