Ataytis Vega Studio is our free, Microsoft-certified Power BI visual for rendering Vega specifications inside your reports. Install it once from Microsoft Marketplace in Power BI Desktop, then paste in any spec.

How do I add this to my report?

1. Add a Vega Studio visual to your report canvas.
2. Click Edit in the visual toolbar.
3. Paste the JSON spec into the Vega editor tab.
4. Click Apply — the visual renders instantly. Drop any field into the visual to switch it on; the spec does not read it.

Does it need to be connected to a data source?

Accepted Answer

No. The visual is fully self-contained — it requires no data fields, measures, or connections in your report.

Why does the flag not fill my visual?

Accepted Answer

Flags have fixed official proportions, so the spec keeps the flag on-ratio and centres it rather than stretching it. Set the visual to the width and height shown under Canvas — with Lock proportions on those are already the correct ratio — and the flag will fill it exactly.

Can I get one spec that switches country from my data?

Accepted Answer

Not in this version. Each copied spec renders one country, so a report showing several flags uses one Vega Studio visual per flag.

Can I use this in client reports or commercially?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Once purchased, you can use the visual in any report for personal or commercial use. You may not resell or redistribute the raw JSON spec itself.
