You get access to copy the Vega JSON spec directly from this page. Set up your names, mode and colours with the controls, then paste the spec into Ataytis Vega Studio inside Power BI Desktop. Everything travels inside the spec, so there is nothing else to set up.

Really random. The draw uses Vega’s random function, which runs in the browser at the instant somebody clicks the visual. Nothing is precomputed. You can paste the same spec into two reports and they will draw different names, and there is nothing in the JSON that could tell anyone the answer in advance.

Not as supplied. The entries are set with the controls on this page and travel inside the specification, so the visual draws from that list rather than from a field. What you receive is an ordinary Vega specification, so binding it to report data is possible for anyone comfortable editing Vega — it is simply not part of what this product does. In practice a standup roster or a prize-draw list changes rarely enough that editing it here and copying the spec again is quicker than building a table for it.

Up to forty. Legibility becomes the practical limit well before that: past roughly a dozen the wheel segments are too narrow to carry a readable label, so the page checks whether your names still fit and tells you what to adjust — a larger visual, a smaller label size, or fewer entries. Team shuffling supports up to twelve teams.

No. Each viewer’s copy of the report draws independently on their own click. It suits a shared screen or a call, where one person triggers the draw and everyone watches the same result. It is not a way to publish a single agreed outcome to an audience viewing separately.

For informal use, yes. For a draw with prizes and rules attached, note that each viewer draws independently and no result is recorded anywhere. There is no audit trail, so it should be treated as entertainment rather than as evidence of a fair draw.

Yes. It is an ordinary Vega spec with no external calls, so it renders the same in Power BI Desktop, in the Service and in the mobile apps. The draw is triggered by a click or a tap anywhere on the visual.
